not to disappear

deep beneath the noise

in the quiet
you felt the earth hold you
you learned the weight of patience
the shape of your own pulse

when it was time
you did not step out with force —
you moved as rivers do
shaping the land
without hurry
without apology

you are not what fades
you are what remains
a tide
a horizon
a constant
that no storm can erase
