White has always been a quiet constant in my work — a tone of renewal, reflection, and calm presence.
This capsule explores how my sculptural artworks appear in tonal white — one of seven hues within the Serenity Palette, a curated range of neutral tones designed to harmonise with light, space, and emotion.
Each piece reveals how stillness can take shape; how texture and shadow can become language; and how restraint can create depth.
White, to me, is not empty — it is intentional.
It holds breath, softness, and the space between noise and knowing.

Brisbane-based artist Sureen Gouws responds to Pantone’s 2026 Colour of the Year — 'Cloud Dancer' White — with her latest capsule, White as a Sanctuary.
The collection explores how calm and clarity can be expressed through sculptural minimalism and tonal nuance. Each artwork — from layered wall sculptures to limited-edition prints — is displayed in serene white, one of seven hues from her Serenity Palette, a curated tonal range designed to bring balance and emotional ease into modern interiors.
“White isn’t absence,” says Gouws. “It’s presence — the space where calm begins.”
